Cubic Bridge

Manufactured in 2000, This was a complex pipe structure designed to be a bridge across a manmade lake at Alan Gibbs farm in Kaukapakapa, The bridge had a walkway fitted to it after installation. Because of the girth of the structure and the need to minimise site assembly, it was transported by helicopter in two pieces from a paddock adjacent to our (premises at the time) factory in Mana Place Wiri. The weight of the 2 sections was approximately 5 tonnes each. The helicopter used was of Russian origin, this helicopter was normally used for logging purposes. The flightpath of the helicopter involved heading due west out to the west coast and then up the coast to Kaukapakapa where the sections were placed on the ground and subsequently installed with a mobile crane.
